Agnes, entering her second year of university, wants to get elected to something, but lacks a voter base. Dwayne suggests she referee hockey. Jacinthe decides to attend Atlanticomicon, but Jake worries she'll put a crimp in the after hours partying. There she meets an older woman. Meanwhile, a Finnish telecom company has moved into town, and the female phone workers want a hockey team, but the local head of officiating disqualifies their best player for professionalism, leading Agnes to found a rival league behind her boss's back. Jacinthe, thrust into the role of team manager, has a dream. Josey, the team captain, has an equal and opposite dream. A lot of characters hunt for a puck in the snow.
