Ice hockey has been played in Britain off and on since Lord Stanley and kids got home from Ottawa in 1893, but interest was waning in the 1960s, making the UK a poor export market for table hockey sets, so the inventive minds at Munro came up with this footie hybrid. I have a mass of Subbuteo stuff but have to wait a bit longer before I introduce the kids to it as they are somewhat fragile. My early Spiderman comics, by comparison, will be unknown to them until the will is read.
