If you want an ultimate Canadian hockey experience, check out the Aboriginal People's Television Network's Olympic coverage in First Nations languages.  I enjoyed USA vs Switzerland called in low-key conversational Cree the other evening.  There doesn't seem to be an climatic equivalent to He shoots, he scores! or Et le but! in Cree yet, but maybe it'd be out of character.  The schedule is here.
 

Zinck Comix "Couldn't Decide"

It seems you have to draw some faces about a hundred times before all the elements settle down. Here's a Zinck cartoon I drew for a Christmas card.  If you compare it to the panel "You're an intellectual, baby!" you can see how I've changed my mind about her face over two months. Incidentally the gag, and the character on the right, are from an Anne Fizzard cartoon.  Douglas

This evening walking home I spotted the planet Mars and recited this verse, "The Bonnie Broukit Bairn" by Hugh MacDiarmid:

Mars is braw in crammasy,

Venus in a green silk goun,

The auld mune shak's her gowden feathers,
