The Pars won the Scottish Cup.
And!
Nazareth were formed.
Dunfermline Athletic visit Greenock today. The Pars are jockeying for promotion to the Premier League. The Ton are just trying to avoid relegation to the Second Division. The moment has come to deliver.
Wow! On Monday Dundee were penalized 25 points for going into administration, dropping them into tenth place with minus 11, and lifting Morton into ninth. Heavy! But they claim they can climb out of that hole. Because who do they have to catch? The Morton, who have won two games so far.
The Third Division table is beginning to look a little raggedy. Last weekend four of the clubs were called away to play Scottish Cup Round Two replays, and Annan have somehow managed to fall two games behind the pack. So the season of Tuesday football begins. Once the First and Second Divisions get caught up in Scottish Cup Round Three replays, and winter weather sets in, the schedule-makers will really begin to earn their pay.
Huh, apparently Sheffield Wednesday don't play all their games in the middle of the week.
And Morton deliver, 2 - 1! They pull ahead of Stirling and Partick, and of course Dundee, though none of the published tables I've seen show the 25-point deduction yet. Next up: the Harry Wraggs.
Slaughter of the Week: Celtic 9, Aberdeen 0! It's the Dons' worst defeat in 107 years.
