The hunt continues for Dennis-the-Menace-fashioned soccer clubs. Today, the tiny Oceania Football Confederation.
In New Caledonia, AS Mont-Dore dress in red socks, black shorts, and a red and black striped jersey.
In New Zealand, Canterbury United wear black socks and shorts, and a red and black striped jersey; as do Metro FC in Auckland.
So much for the Oceania Football Confederation. The Wikipedia pages on the OFC countries are pretty woeful, as are, I suspect, the OFC countries (as soccer powers, that is). Let's move on to the Asian Football Confederation, which is so huge it's divided into four parts. First, South East Asia.
Australia, ex-OFC member. Bankstown City Lions dress like Canterbury United and Metro FC, and Rockdale City Suns are not much different. Huh, there's a Toronto in New South Wales.
Brunei. Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota FC wear a red and black striped jersey, black shorts and black socks.
Nothing in Malaysia or East Timor.
Persipura Jayapura, The Black Pearls, play in the Indonesian Super League and wear the familiar red and black striped jersey, black shorts and red socks.
Nothing in Singapore. Though Tampines Rovers have The Monarch of the Glen as their emblem, which puts them in the same group as Ross County.
Philippines. The Wikipedia articles on the Philippines could use some work. Laos too.
Nothing in Vietnam, Cambodia or Thailand. Skimpy information on Myanmar.
What a bust. Next time, China and Japan.
