Rangers have been admitted into the SFL Third Division. The wags on Twitter have already pointed out that this guarantees Rangers two dates at Hampden (against Queen's Park) and satisfies their long-felt desire to go play in England (against Berwick).
The SPL meet Monday to identify Club 12. There's speculation that instead of Dundee or Dunfermline, Rangers will be named. It's also rumoured that the SPL is attempting to create an SPL2 before the season kicks off, to rescue the television deal, though where they'll get the clubs for that I do not know.
