Morton return to Central Park, the only First Division ground surrounded by giant white truck tires, for a match with Cowdenbeath FC.
Even though Morton lost to Dumbarton Wednesday, they're still in first place, though probably just because Partick have had a couple of matches postponed. Wednesday's loss was a disaster. I mean, what's the point of beating the top club if you turn around and lose to the bottom one?
What teams have scored a win against the division leader this season? August 18th, Partick visited Dunfermline and beat them 0 - 1. (I'm trying to develop the European way of writing the score, with the home team first.) August 25th, Dunfermline beat Airdrie 1 - 2. October 6th, Morton outscored Partick 3 - 1. November 10th, Partick creamed Dunfermline 5 - 1. November 16th, Hamilton beat Partick 1 - 0. December 26th Morton defeated Partick 1 - 2. And on January 2nd, Dumbarton trounced Morton 0 - 3. So five clubs have had the pleasure of embarrassing the first place team, and today Cowdenbeath have an opportunity. In the past week Cowdenbeath have acquired three SPL players on loan.
[1 - 1. Morton goal by MacDonald. Dunfermline win and take over first place.]
