In its day, before Highway 1 was even paved, the Aylesford Service and Filling Station was hailed as "The most up-to-date Filling Station in the Evangeline district." Strategically placed at the corner of Victoria Road, it occupied a strip of land so narrow that it was necessary to take a bite out of the hill behind it. The filling station is gone today, but the recess survives (as of 2009) as a small parking lot, with a tiger painted on the jig in the retaining wall.
