The West Harbour, at the foot of William Street, was improved in 1710, and was for a long time Greenock's main port, although it was never more than 20 feet deep at the highest tide. It was filled in in the 1920s. Source. Compare Patrick Downie's painting.
Morton host Dundee United.
This was expected to be the year United won the division, but they have not occupied first place since December, and they have played so poorly in 2018 that they're in danger of missing the playoffs entirely.
Against Morton they have two wins (both from 2017) and a loss (January).
The Tangerines finished last season in third place with 57 points. If they do worse than that this year it will be their worst showing since 1958-59.
A win or a draw for Morton will keep the Ton in third place. Wins by Dundee United and Dunfermline would drop Morton to fifth.
If Morton win today and St Mirren win or play to a draw in their game against ICT, Dundee United cannot win the division. If Morton win and Dumbarton lose, Morton escape relegation.
Lee Kilday has been loaned out to Airdrieonians for the rest of the season.
[Morton 1 - 1 Dundee United. Morton goal by Ross.]
Other matches of the day: Dunfermline [3 - 1] QoS. ICT [2 - 2] St Mirren. Dumbarton [0 - 3] Livingston.
[Morton cling to third place. Tangerines fall to fifth.]
Postponements: League One has cleared its backlog of postponed fixtures, whereas the Championship has Tuesday games right through to April 24th.
East Stirlingshire, who have been using Stenhousemuir's Ochilview Park since 2008 will groundshare Falkirk Stadium next season.
1978-79. March 28th the Ton travelled to Celtic Park and lost 3 - 0.
March 31st Hearts visited Cappielow and played Morton to a 2 - 2 draw. Goals by Thomson and Ritchie.
1944-45. Morton beat Airdrieonians 1 - 0 at Cappielow. This concluded the Southern League Cup group stage. Morton did not advance. (The final group stage standings at Wikipedia do not tally with the scores at Fitbastats.)
When was the last time Montrose, Morton and Motherwell all played in the same division?
Never.

Swiss Challenge League. Winterthur are ninth with 21 points, ahead of tenth-place Wil who have 15. Winterthur are in no danger of relegation, however, because Wil have announced that they're getting out of pro soccer after this season. That makes the second year in a row that a club has voluntarily resigned. Xamax are breezing to promotion. Vaduz are third.

Tokyo United was created through the 2015 amalgamation of the football clubs of Keio University and the University of Tokyo. Keio University hold the record for the most Emperor's Cups won by anyone. So they have serious credentials. They're based in Bunkyō Ward and wear yellow, blue and red. I'm not much good at the Japanese language, but the name Bunkyō (文京) says 'Literary Capital' to me. And it is the location of many of Tokyo's universities, the headquarters of Kodansha publishers, and Soseki Natsume lived there.
Let's also follow the 71st Aomori Prefecture Soccer Championship, aka NHK Cup. There are ten teams involved. Two Round One games go today, two next week. Vanraure Hachinohe and ReinMeer Aomori have byes into the semi-finals. Today it's:
Aomori University FC [9 - 0] National Institute of Technology, Hachinohe College FC
Blancdieu Hirosaki [10 - 0] Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Hachinohe FC
