Adonirum B. Judson's map of the Great Epizootic of 1872-73, an equine influenza that broke out in Markham, Ontario and spread through North America's horse population. In the days before the Canadian Pacific Railway the disease had to travel by way of the United States to reach Vancouver, taking from September to June to do so. Source.
