Pentagon

From 1860 to 1969 the Pentagon Building stood just to the north of what is now NSCAD's Granville Street campus, about where an elevated pedestrian walkway now runs between Scotia Square and Purdy's Wharf. It was five stories high and five-sided. Source.

Quebec Bridge Disaster 1907

On this date in 1907 the new cantilever bridge spanning the St Lawrence River at Quebec City collapsed during construction, killing 75 of the 86 workers on it. It would suffer another failure in 1916 before opening for traffic in 1919. Source.

The last time these two met was in the group stage of last year's League Cup. They played to a scoreless draw and then Partick took the extra point in the shootout. Partick earned two wins to one for Morton in the 2019-20 league season, but it did not save them from relegation.

August 24, 1999.    Clydebank beat Forfar 4 - 3 in Round Two of the Challenge Cup in a match played at Cappielow. Chris Ewing score three goals and Derek McWilliams added a fourth for the Bankies. 179 people attended the game. Morton were away to Dingwall to play Ross County who beat them 3 - 0.

August 28, 1999.    Morton hosted Livingston in a league match and played them to a 2 - 2 draw. David Murie and Paddy Connolly were the Morton scorers. Attendance was 1257.

August 29, 1999.    Clydebank hosted St Mirren and lost 2 - 3. Peter Cormack and Greg Miller scored for the Bankies. 1513 attended. You can't help but think that most of the spectators were from Greenock and Paisley.
