Rosenheim hockey goes back to 1928. The club won the German championship in 1982, 1985 and 1989. They joined the Deutsche Eishockey Liga in its inaugural season 1994-95, but sold their license to Iserlohn Roosters in 2000. They came to the Oberliga from DEL2 in 2017. This is the fourth year in a row that Reissersee and Rosenheim are in the same league. (See below.)
Why a Starbull? The constellation Taurus has no apparent connection to Rosenheim; the heraldic emblem of the town of Rosenheim is a rose. This name Starbulls might be another one of those European attempts to make a hockey team sound more North American. In 1993, the year before Rosenheim took the Starbulls name, the Minnesota North Stars moved to Texas and became the Dallas Stars. The bull could be a reference to the Texan longhorn. I'm just guessing.
