Ally MacLeod managed Ayr United from 1966 till 1975, and then in 1978, and then from 1986 to 1989. He was Scotland manager in 1977-78. Billy Connolly claims that MacLeod thought tactics were a new kind of breath mint. Source.

HFX Wanderers' Akeem Garcia is retiring at age 25 to pursue a coaching license. Defender Cristian Campagna is training with 1.FC Nürnberg.
Vancouver FC was launched Wednesday. They'll play in Langley BC, not to be confused (though it will be) with Langford BC. The head coach is Afshin Ghotbi, previously of Persepolis, Samsung Bluewings and Shimizu S-Pulse. In a dog-whistle to potential investors the CPL press release refers to the sport as an "industry" and Vancouver as a "market". The press release is also careful to refer to VFC as "the newest" CPL team rather than "the ninth" as FC Edmonton might not be around next year.
