1966 Donruss Marvel Super Hero Cards

This set of 66 cards featured panels from the Marvel comics of the era, but the dialog had been replaced by snappy comebacks prompted by the out-of-context pictures. Some of the speech bubbles directed you to write your own. The backs of the cards combined to reveal a super hero group portrait.

Stony Berlin

I wonder if Jason Lutes took some of the inspiration for his Berlin trilogy from Werner Hegemann's critique of Berlin tenement housing, Das Steinerne Berlin, which translates as Stony Berlin. Hegemann was chased out of Germany by the Nazis.
